Craig-O-Screens is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your screenshots and app assets are your business, not ours.
Plain Language Summary
- All data stays on your Mac. Screenshots, projects, and settings are stored locally in your Documents folder.
- No cloud uploads. We don't operate any servers that receive your data.
- No analytics tracking. We don't collect usage data, crash reports, or telemetry.
- No third-party SDKs. The app contains no advertising or analytics frameworks.
Technical Details
Permissions Required
- Screen Recording: Required to capture windows and screen regions. This permission is managed by macOS and you can revoke it at any time in System Settings.
- File System Access: Limited to user-selected folders for saving and exporting assets.
Data Storage
- Project data is stored in
~/Documents/Craig-O-Screens/ - Application preferences are stored in the standard macOS preferences location
- No data is transmitted to external servers or third parties
App Sandbox
Craig-O-Screens runs in the macOS App Sandbox, which means it has limited access to your system. It can only access files and folders you explicitly grant permission to.
Privacy Manifest
In compliance with Apple's requirements, Craig-O-Screens includes a Privacy Manifest that declares all data practices. You can review this manifest in the app bundle.
